The Haryana government is about to see a big change come forward with a new policy seeking to change the Information Technology (IT) and Information Technology Enabled Services (ITeS) sectors. This disruptive major policy is set to shift people’s focus to IT investments outside of Gurgaon and assert Haryana as the preferred destination for technology-led industries. The policy hopes to accelerate economic development; IT exports alone are expected to grow from ?79,000 crore to ?1.2 lakh crore, bouncing the state’s annual IT revenue up from ?1.5 lakh crore to ?3 lakh crore, all in the next five years.

With technology being the backbone of today's economies, the government of Haryana has sanctioned an array of incentives to entice best-in-class global and Indian technology companies. This initiative transcends mere economic development; it demonstrates Haryana's commitment to innovation, research and development (R&D), and awareness of technology. Through these efforts, the state anticipates to generate 300,000 net new jobs reinforcing Haryana's standing as a top tier IT powerhouse.

Additionally, the government intends to classify IT/ITeS units as essential services - a status which protects businesses from disruption, allowing them to operate with confidence and remain resilient. A dedicated committee will oversee the eligibility requirements of companies so they can access specific support tailored to their needs. Through this solution Haryana is not only diversifying its industries but also positioning itself as a national leader in digital transformation and technology driven economic growth.
